Red Bean Dessert 紅豆沙 and Mung Bean Dessert 綠豆沙


Absolutely delicious and easy recipe for Red Bean Dessert 紅豆沙 and Mung Bean Dessert 綠豆沙 – Chinese Red Bean Soup – Chinese Green Bean Dessert. These Chinese desserts can be eaten hot or cold! And the best thing about these recipes are that there’s no need to soak the dried beans overnight. The instant pot does all the work for you.

Red Bean Dessert and Mung Bean Dessert





Ingredients for red bean dessert

  • 1/2 cup dried red beans

  • 2.5 cups water

  • 2 tablespoons rock sugar

  • 2 pieces of dried mandarin peel

 


Ingredients for mung bean dessert

  • 1/2 cup dried mung beans

  • 2 cups water

  • 2 tablespoons rock sugar

 


Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 80 minutes (including time to pressurize)
Ready in: 1 hour 25 minutes
Serving size: 4


Directions:

  1. Rinse dried beans and peels.  Note: no need to soak dried beans!
  2. Combine al ingredients into instant pot
  3. Close lid, and pressure cook on high for 1hour and 10mins
  4. Release pressure when done.
  5. Take out peels and blend until smooth.
  6. Sauté down for 5-10 minutes until desired thickness.
  7. Serve hot or cold!
